Lockdown was sudden, scary and we didn’t know what the coming days and weeks would hold for us, our loved ones or even our jobs. So, I wanted to check in on some of the lovely people I had interviewed for Season 1 of The Wonder House.
This is the second episode of Coffee and Catch Up. Today, I’m chatting to Sara Wajid, Head of Engagement at the Museum of London. We talked about taking long walks, looking at beautiful flowers and getting through this time as best we can - one piña colada ice lolly at a time!
Sara is not furloughed: in fact, it was interesting to hear how useful this time has been to think so much clearly and in depth about the new and massive Museum of London project in West Smithfield. She also talks about how her decolonial work continues during lockdown, including discussions about gender equality in the museum sector with fellow feminists in the Space Invaders network.
At the end of the episode, you heard Sara mention Gaylene Gould. Well, I’m happy to say that I’ve recorded that interview and it knocked my socks off! It’ll be out soon as Episode 11 - so listen out for it!
I hope you enjoy this lighthearted break from the world.
